Fonda del Mar's Special NYE Prix Fixe Dinner Menu

We're pleased to announce that Fonda del Mar will be offering a special $35 prix fixe menu (excluding tax and tip) for SwingIn' the New Year V attendees. ($50 prix fixe menu also available @ www.fdmrestaurant.com.) The prix fixe dinner choices are listed bellow and reservations should be made directly with the restaurant at 773-348-7635.

Tickets for the event are required to receive the $35 menu.

Fonda del Mar
Our story begins with Fonda del Mar, a restaurant opened in 2005. Call it homage to our Mexican heritage. Decidedly seafood heavy and fresh, and not a burrito in sight, Fonda soon became a Logan Square favorite.

Color takes flight here with the exotic dishes of Mexican cuisine. Chocolate brown and jade green moles covering the enmoladas are no less vibrant than the bright pink Yucatean onions atop our famed cochinita pibil.

Our menu encompasses antojitos, fresh seafood and meats and chicken dishes that are free from Mexican food clichés. From our jump lump crab cakes to our chile relleno de salmon, this is authentic Mexican cuisine with a cosmopolitan flair.

With over thirty varied wines and a serene, inviting atmosphere, Fonda Del Mar is the place to socialize and enjoy true-to-form Mexican cuisine.

NYE Prix Fixe Dinner Menu

Appetizer (Choice of one)
Ensalada de zarzamora: Mixed green salad tossed with raspberry vinaigrette, caramelized pecans, fresh berries, topped with fresh goat cheese.
Uchepos:Sweet corn tamales drizzled with poblano cream sauce and melted Chihuahua cheese.

Chieatole:

Tomatillo – Serrano epazote flavored soup with poblano rajas and sweet corn.

Main Course: (Choice of one)
Pescado tikin xic:Achiote and spiced rubed mahi mahi steam cooked in banana leaf topped with tomato molcajete salsa and yucatean onions served with garlic mashed potatoes
Chuleta en manchamanteles: 12 oz grilled pork chop in a spicy fruity mole manchamanteles served with sweet potato puree.

Carne asada:

10 oz grilled skirt steak served with spicy salsa roja, Mexican rice and black beans

Dessert: (Choice of one)
Flan del dia Homemade baed custard infused with a variety of flavors (ask your server for today’s flavor) topped with fresh fruit
Volteado de pinaHomemade pineapple upside down with carmelized pecans served with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce
